OLB

OLB stands for “Outside Linebacker.” It is a position in American football primarily responsible for defending against the pass, supporting the run defense, and occasionally rushing the quarterback. Outside linebackers typically line up on the outside of the defensive formation, outside of the defensive ends, and can be tasked with various duties including covering receivers, tackling ball carriers, and containing the edge of the field. They need to possess a combination of speed, strength, agility, and good awareness to effectively read plays and react quickly.
