Fotbal

Fotbal, known as soccer in many parts of the world, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each. It is one of the most popular and widely followed sports globally. The objective of the game is to score goals by getting a ball into the opposing team’s net, which is typically guarded by a goalkeeper. The game is played on a rectangular field known as a pitch, with a goal at each end.

Matches are typically played over two halves, each lasting 45 minutes, with a half-time interval. Players use a combination of foot, head, and body to control and advance the ball, but only the goalkeeper is allowed to use their hands and only within the penalty area.

Fotbal is governed by the Laws of the Game, established by the International Football Association Board (IFAB). The sport promotes physical fitness, teamwork, and strategic thinking and has major international tournaments such as the FIFA World Cup, UEFA European Championship, and continental championships. It has a significant cultural impact and fosters local, national, and international rivalries and communities.
