Soccer

Soccer, known as football in most countries outside of North America, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players using a spherical ball. The objective of the game is to score goals by getting the ball into the opposing team’s net. The game is typically played on a rectangular field called a pitch, with a goal at each end. Players primarily use their feet to maneuver the ball, although they can also use their heads and torsos; goalkeepers are the only players allowed to use their hands and only within the penalty area.

Soccer is governed by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), which organizes international competitions, including the FIFA World Cup. Soccer is the most popular sport in the world, with millions of fans and players across all continents. The game has evolved over the years with its own set of rules, known as the Laws of the Game, which are maintained by the International Football Association Board (IFAB). The sport emphasizes teamwork, strategy, and skill, making it a dynamic and engaging activity for players and spectators alike.
