Ligue 2

Ligue 2 is the second tier of professional football (soccer) in France, operating below Ligue 1, the top division. It is organized by the French Football Federation (FFF) and features a series of teams that compete in a league format. Each season, teams play matches against one another, with points awarded for wins and draws. At the end of the season, the highest-ranking teams can be promoted to Ligue 1, while the lowest-ranking teams may be relegated to the third tier known as National. Ligue 2 has historically been a platform for clubs to develop talent and has contributed significantly to the French football ecosystem.
